Courses and Career after 12th Science Biology

What to choose after 12th standard is the biggest question that runs in every student’s mind. After 12th standard, the course a science student chooses defines his or her career. Medical courses can be pursued by students after completing their 12th class with PCB (Physics, Chemistry & Biology) subjects. The PCB subjects are together called the ‘Biology Group’ or ‘B Group’.

BDS stands for Bachelor of Dental Surgery. It is a 5 years course and follows the similar pattern of MBBS. To become a dentist, an aspirant must complete this medical course.

B.SC. Nursing

Students can become a Registered Nurse (RN) with the help of this course. There is a high demand for qualified nurses in the medical sector. The duration of the course is 3 to 4 years which includes practical training and classroom lectures.


To become a licensed chemist, one must hold a B.Pharm Degree. The duration of the course is 4 years and it deals with pharmaceuticals. The subjects that are mostly focused in B.Pharm are chemistry, pharmacy, healthcare, and biology.


BAMS or Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery deals with the concepts of Ayurvedic and Ayurveda medicines. The duration of this course is 5 and half years with one year of internship at the end.

Pharm D

Pharm D is a different course when compared to B.Pharm. Pharm is the short form for Doctor of Pharmacy. The course has a long duration of 6 years. Pharm D is a more advanced course than B.Pharm and holds a high value in many countries outside India.


Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery shortly known as BHMS is the medical course that deals homeopathic medicines. The course has a duration of 5 and half years.
